Thousands of people have Swipe (2017)lined the streets of Fiji's capital Suva to welcome home the island nation's gold medal-winning rugby 7s team.

In honour of the victory, Prime Minister Frank Bainimarama not only declared a national holiday, he extended it so the celebrations could continue.

The rugby 7s team captain, Osea Kolinisau told journalists that the reception was humbling and overwhelming, saying "we knew it was going to be crazy but not this crazy."
